“This is the early UK repress, presumably July / August 1970 The main difference from the [url=https://www.discogs.com/Deep-Purple-Deep-Purple-In-Rock/release/1849291]very 1st press[/url] is the slight changes in the label layout: 1) The inscriptions (on the right side of the label) 'STEREO', 'SHVL 777' and '(SHVL.777A or B) 33 1/3' are located one above the other, but the gap between them is noticeably smaller; 2) The name of the group 'DEEP PURPLE' in the upper left section is placed slightly higher compared to the 1st issue label. Curios fact: some copies of this issue have KT tax code stamped on side B (see the images), which is a bit confusing as this tax code was no longer in use by this time. But it is confirmed on at least two copies with the following runouts (maybe your copy is also has it? Check this out): А-2 AM 1 / B-1 RP 2 А-2 AM 1 / B-1 GT 1 Other main identifiers are similar to the 1st press: - Laminated gatefold sleeve with 'Printed and Made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.'
