“Pre-release acetate of the LP Wild Bill Davison Plays the Greatest of the Greats! from 1959. This is an unique album and therefore not a "Best Of" LP as the Title may suggest. This test-acetate was cut in the studio directly after recording, and was mainly made for Wild Bill Davison to approve if good enough for release. There were only around 3 copies of this acetate ever cut. This is the only known copy. This copy got signed by Wild Bill Davison in 1959, and was then handed as a present to Peter Wyss of The Darktown Strutters with whom Wild Bill Davison had been recording one full (still completely unreleased) LP with in 1959, that only seems to have survived in form of a one-of-a-kind unreleased 12" acetate LP.”
