Notes

Recorded and mixed June-August, 1994 This Johnny Adams release is characterized as jazz rather than blues by the liner notes quoting Adams' intent in making the album. Despite the usual Rounder collection of New Orleans players in supporting roles, the result of the collection is an interpretation of the songs of Tinpan Alley and Broadway songwriters and later creations in the same vein. Even the three Dr. John/Doc Pomus songs are not Delta blues but two ballads and a light swing ("City Lights").
