Recorded at Clay Creek Studios - March 1997. Issued with CD-sized booklet. B6 not listed on back cover. B5 is listed on enclosed booklet, but B6 is not (a "hidden" track). Durations not printed on the release. Runouts are etched, except for GOLDEN, which is stamped. This variant is similar to The Day The Sun Went Out but differs in the following aspects (see photos for clarification): 1) Front cover artwork has a black outer border and the Vitruvian Man drawing is perhaps slightly more orange in tint 2) Back artwork lists "Hometown Report Card" and does not have a typo with "Cadence" 3) Back artwork has the Initial Records logo in the middle. Addresses for both Initial and Green Hell are given, one on top of the other (not side by side). On this version, Green Hell's address is "Von Steugen STR 17, 48143 Münster" (with the umlaut in Münster, unlike the other version) 4) Does NOT have "andy eats poop." in the bottom left corner on the back sleeve 5) Vinyl center labels have completely black labels with white text. Band name is written as "boysetsfire" and below is the album title "the day the sun went out" (both band and record title written entirely in lowercase letters, and band name without spaces) 6) Vinyl center labels do not have a Vitruvian Man drawing, and have the Initial Records logo below the center hole, with the text "IR 19 • 33 RPM • SIDE ONE (or TWO)" 7) Back spine is entirely black with the text "BOY SETS FIRE • THE DAY THE SUN WENT OUT • IR19" written in white Due to the fact that this variant has some "corrections" compared to variant The Day The Sun Went Out it is presumed to be a repress, but this cannot be confirmed by Initial Records, Green Hell or the band.
