Notas

This First Edition Records reissue was released no earlier than 1975. [Review date on back sleeve.] The [Harris] Symphony No. 5 was composed during World War II and was premiered by Koussevitzky and the Boston Symphony in 1943. This version has been revised by the composer -- shortened and somewhat simplified. Corinthians: XIII [by Creston], completed in December, 1963, was commissioned by Bruce Irwin for the Phoenix Symphony Association and premiered by the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra under Guy Taylor on March 30, 1964. It is dedicated to the composer's wife. Note -- the second half figures in the Matrix/Runout include approximations of what appears stamped into the dead wax. Note 2 -- The "bmp" (beats per minute) in the track list for Symphony No. 5 is a substitution for the actual symbol as noted in the accompanying program notes and on disc label Side 1.
