23 Envelope

Design partnership between graphic designer Vaughan Oliver (aka v23) and photographer/filmmaker Nigel Grierson from 1981-1987. During this time, they mainly worked jointly or independently on creating a distinct visual identity for the British independent music label 4AD resulting from their successful record sleeve designs for bands, such as Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance and This Mortal Coil. As v23, Oliver also worked with Chris Bigg, Adrian Philpott & Paul McMenamin among others.
