Evangelical Lutheran church (built first in 1140) situated in the small city of Rötha, Eastern Germany. Next to Rötha's St. Marienkirche, it is one of the most important cultural monuments in the area south of Leipzig (according to Dehio). The church has a famous baroque Gottfried Silbermann organ (II/P/23) from 1721. The instrument was overhauled in 1832 by Urban Kreutzbach (Borna) and restored in 1935 and 1979/1980 by Eule (Bautzen); tuning: equal temperament (since 1832), a=464.9 Hz (Chorton). Note: this organ should not be confused with the Silbermann organ at Marienkirche Rötha! Name variations: St. Georgenkirche, Rötha
