ENG: "Young St Peter's church", in contrast to "Old St Peter's church" = "Saint-Pierre le Vieux" Evangelical Lutheran church in Gothic style from the 14th century in Strasbourg, France. The church has a famous 16' Johann Andreas Silbermann organ dating from 1780; this instrument was later enlarged from its original disposition of 'I/P/16' to 'II/P/22' in 1820 (Ruckpositiv added) and finally to 'III/P/41' during the 1948 restoration (Muhleisen), which also achieved a partial return to the Silbermann style (5 of the 41 Silbermann stops have been retained); last restored in 1966 (Kern) with further approximations to the original state; tuned in equal temperament.
