Phillip Bedel (October 26, 1945 - March 3, 2021) was an artist based out of Southern California. He operated his own photo studio, catering to clients in the entertainment industry. He was the unofficial in-house photographer for the independent west coast hip-hop label Macola Record Co., who helped create the first ever album cover photos of such famous artists and groups such as Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, N.W.A., CMW (MC Eiht/Compton's Most Wanted), Egyptian Lover and others. His work allowed the world to see a visual depiction of many of these artists for the first time. He spent the remainder years as an educator and advocate of the arts and history.
