Swedish book and music publisher, born on April 2, 1925 in Bromma, Stockholm, Uppland, and passed away on January 24, 2005 in Adolf Fredrik, Stockholm, Uppland. Jacob Boëthius obtained a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from Stockholm University, referred to as 'Stockholm högskola' between 1878 and 1960, in 1951. He served as a continuity announcer at Radiotjänst from 1946 to 1947, was employed at Kooperativa Förbundet's publishing house/Rabén & Sjögren's publishing house from 1948 to 1959, and worked at the publishing house of SKDB from 1960 to 1961, as well as being the head of Sveriges Radios Förlag from 1966 to 1968. Boëthius founded Proprius Förlag AB in 1962. He began record publishing with Proprius Musik AB in 1969, primarily of choir and organ music of an audiophile nature. Boëthius was awarded Kungl. Musikaliska Akademien's 'Medaljen för Tonkonstens Främjande' (the Medal for the Promotion of the Art of Music) in 1995.
