Iain McLachlan (1927–1995), a native Gaelic speaker from Benbecula, he was a legendary figure in the Scottish traditional music scene, famously known as a master of the three-row Shand Morino button accordion. Known for a 1958 composition that became the popular air 'The Dark Island'.
