Ecuadorian pianist, accordionist and composer (Cuenca, 26 May 1909 - 12 Feb. 1982), he formed "Los Hermanos Ortiz" in 1930, with his brothers Alberto (guitar and Enrique (bandoneón), the Orquesta Austral in 1934 and "La Típica Ortíz" in 1942.
