Mark Van Veen

Mark van Veen (1986, Nieuwegein) has been passionate about music from an early age. At the age of 6, he started taking drum lessons at the local drum band, which was the beginning of his musical journey. In the following years, his love for music grew and he started playing in various (hobby) bands. After completing his studies in 2008, Mark took his first steps as a singer, and his talent did not go unnoticed. His vocal skills immediately caught the attention of the audience, and Mark soon started performing regularly. His passion for performing and his ability to entertain and move people with beautiful music became his life's work. Over the years, Mark gained valuable stage experience both in and outside the Netherlands. His artistic journey took a special turn in 2017 when he was discovered by Leo Lukassen, a renowned artist manager, during a performance in Nijmegen. The connection between Mark and Leo was immediately noticeable, and this led to Mark joining the artist roster of Artiestenbureau Lukassen in Ooij. After numerous successful performances and rave reviews from all over the country, Mark and Leo felt it was time to broaden their horizons. They decided to capture Mark’s own sound in the form of their own single. With the aim of creating a unique musical identity, Leo introduced Mark to producer Edwin van Hoevelaak, whose track record was brilliant with successes for artists such as Nick & Simon, Jeroen van de Boom and Andre Hazes. The musical chemistry between Mark and Edwin was immediately noticeable, and despite Leo’s tragic passing in 2022, they determinedly continued their plans. In 2023, a milestone in Mark’s career was marked when, surrounded by a talented team, he entered the Rooftop Studios in Holten for his very first collaboration with Edwin van Hoevelaak. Before the official release of his first single, Mark's long-cherished dream came true. In August 2023, he signed his first record deal with Triple-A Music, Edwin van Hoevelaak's label. This achievement filled Mark with immense pride. Together with a talented team, Mark van Veen looks confidently towards a bright future. From the exuberant Volendam funfairs to his own theater concerts, and from frequent performances during the Mega Piraten Festijn to shows on the Spanish Costa, Mark van Veen is a welcome guest at hundreds of tent parties and summer festivals. In addition to his regular performances, Mark travels the country with “Mark’s Hazes Tribute!”, in which he pays a musical tribute to the legendary André Hazes.
