サンハウス (SONHOUSE) is a Japanese blues rock band from Fukuoka, formed in 1970 by 柴山俊之 (vocals) and 鮎川誠 (Lead guitar&Composer).
The band emerged from the live music scene in Fukuoka and became one of the pioneering blues-based rock bands in Japan during the 1970s. Their debut album "有頂天 (Uchoten)" released in 1975 is regarded as an important work in the early history of Japanese rock.
After the group disbanded in the late 1970s, guitarist Makoto Ayukawa formed Sheena & The Rokkets in 1978 with vocalist Sheena. Through the success of Sheena & The Rokkets, several songs originally written and performed by Sonhouse were revived and continued to be performed, which helped introduce Sonhouse and its music to a wider audience.
