Swedish diplomat, music administrator and singer, born September 20, 1965 in Uppsala.
He is from 2017 the permanent secretary of the Royal Academy of Music. Before that, he worked as a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he worked with press, culture and communication issues as well as with security policy issues. In the years 1998–2002, Wetterqvist was first embassy secretary at the Swedish embassy in Ottawa and 1995–1997 second embassy secretary at the Swedish embassy in Tallinn.
During the period 2012–2016, Wetterqvist was chairman of Stim's promotion committee. He has also been deputy chief secretary in the International Culture Inquiry, and an expert in the Literature Inquiry, The Culture of Reading.
