Jazz organist, pianist and composer. Born on Long Island, New York, USA.
Originally a pianist, Lewis moved to the (Hammond B3) organ whilst substituting at a gig for Gil Coggins. Lewis formed his own band “Organ Monk.” For several years in the 2000s he fronted a trio with Ron Jackson and various drummers. He also connected with Cindy Blackman Santana who performed regularly with him. In the mid 2020's he formed a trio with Kevin McNeal and Nasheet Waits.
