Frank Nagai. Japanese popular singer. Born March 18, 1932 in Miyagi; died October 27, 2008. Armed with a unique, rich bass voice that was described as "enchanting," he pioneered the urban, jazz -flavored mood song genre together with his mentor, composer Tadashi Yoshida, and sent out numerous hit songs.
