German vocalist from Augsburg in the Krautrock era.
In 1968, he founded the band "A Deeper Blue" together with Rainer Baur. The year after, they both founded another band called "Phallus Dei". When they received a record contract in 1972, the band was renamed to Gift in order to be more convenient for the mainstream audience. After recording of their first album, Treichel left the band.
He was playing with numerous local bands in Augsburg (e.g. Route 66, Cor, Mephisto or Walrus).
In 1997, he quit the music scene and settled to California, USA. He was working as scientist for electronical and solar technique projects. Later, he returned to Germany and, already in his final stage in California, he started again to perform music.
