Belgian screenwriter and director born May 25, 1903 in Saint-Gilles (Bruxelles), Belgium. Brother of Paul-Henri Spaak, father of Catherine Spaak and Agnès Spaak, he landed in France in late 1920's. With Jacques Prévert, he's one of the most important screenwriters of 1930's and 1940's French cinema. Dead March 4, 1975 in Nice, France.
