María Isabel Rubio Trujillo

Colombian composer, singer and tiplist born in Mariquita (Tolima) on June 8, 1915. Her musical career took place in the cities of Bogotá and Medellín. She sang, among others, with Camilo García and Antonio "Silga" Ríos. She was linked to the Estudiantentina Iris de Jesús Zapata Builes group in which she played the tiple. She worked as a discotheque on La Voz de Antioquía radio for many years. She composed the station's famous Christmas jingle for Caracol Radio around 1955. Chava Rubio was the author of bambucos, hallways, guabinas and villancicos (christmas carols) Chava Rubio died on May 23, 1995.
