Karin Ahnlund

Swedish classical viola and violin player, born in 1958. She is educated with a soloist diploma at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. After completing her education, Karin was a member of the Zetterqvist Quartet (later called the Gotland Quartet) for 15 years. The Gotland Quartet also studied at the Liszt Academy in Budapest under the legendary professor Andras Mihaly. Mihaly came to mean a great deal to Karin's further music making and outlook on music. A view where personal expression and communication between people is the core and driving force for musical creation. In order to further explore this, Karin, in addition to her position in Kungliga Hovkapellet, trained as a music therapist at the Academy of Music in Stockholm.
