American Soul and Gospel songwriter and choir leader, director of Sounds Of Blackness since 1971.
Starting that year, Hines was leader of the choir from Minnesota, led the choir to first recordings in 1974. In 1991, he prepared the first step into commercial music business, when he signed for the choire at Perspective Records / A&M Records. The choir eventually also had numerous activities as accompanying choir for Pop productions.
In 1998, he and the choir left the major label and continued releasing on smaller labels.
Hines was representative person of the choir for many years. He received many awards for the choir, e.g. 3 Grammys. Besides, Hines appeared on many stages worldwide with an uncountable number of artists and on many special events, as the Olympics, he also teaches the history of black music across the United States.
