Henry Martínez (b. Maracay, Aragua state, February 13, 1950 - d. October 2, 2025), Venezuelan musician (guitar, cuatro), singer, composer, novelist, short story writer, poet, and physician known for being one of the most influential contributors to Venezuelan contemporary music. In his early years as musician joined Luis Laguna and his Venezuela 4 group.
He has worked with artists as diverse as Marc Anthony and Paul Mauriat. His music is influenced by Venezuelan folklore, bossa nova, jazz, and rock, and his compositions show a contemporary harmonic formula, unusual for musicians of his generation, his songs have been recorded by reputed musicians as Guaco, Oscar D'León, Marc Anthony, Pablo Milanés, Morella Muñoz, Luz Marina Anselmi, Cecilia Todd, Huguette Contramaestre, Paul Mauriat, Otmaro Ruiz, Juan José Capella, Jerry Rivera, Frankie Negron, Ofelia Del Rosal, and by himself.
