Besides being a songwriter and guitarist, Nadel was a dentist. He is best known for writing twelve songs for Elvis Presley. During the 1950s, Nadel was a member of the American band The Islanders (2) with Frank Metis, and their song "The Enchanted Sea" which hit #15 in 1959. Nadel had a song chart as a singer and songwriter: "After School", co-written by Wolfe, hit #32 in the U.S. in 1957. Nadel charted five other times between 1957-1968 in the U.S. and/or U.K.
Nadel was educated at Columbia University where he took his undergraduate degree from Columbia College in 1951, and his DDS degree from Columbia College of Dental Medicine in 1954.
