Denis O'Brien

Journalist, theatre critic and author, born 19 March 1929 at Bexhill-on-sea, England; died 1 October 2014 in Sydney, Australia. He emigrated to Australia in 1950 and worked as a theatre reviewer and arts editor. He began a career as a freelance journalist in 1972, specialising in arts, entertainment and popular culture and worked as a writer and adviser to entrepreneur Harry M. Miller from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. In 1975, he and Bob Rogers published their book "Rock’n’ Roll Australia: the Australian Pop Scene 1954-64".
