Αντώνης Βώττης

1980 - 1970. Antonis Vottis was born and raised in Athens. He had the permanent revue "Papagalos" (at the "Delphi" theater) in which, in addition to his wife, the famous songwriter Λόλα Βώττη (with whom he collaborated), he also wrote songs himself (such as: "Oi Glentzedes", "Mon' o Romios", "To Stoupi", "Aeroplano", "Kothonia", etc.). He also collaborated with Γιάννης Κυπαρίσσης (e.g. in the well-known "Katinaki mou") and with other well-known songwriters of the revue (Άγγελος Μαρτίνο, Τιμόθεος Ξανθόπουλος, A. Mastrekini). He first appeared as a revue writer in 1912 with "Karne" (which Xenopoulos described as the best revue of the year). He began writing "Papagalos" in 1914 and continued it until the mid-1930s. He also wrote the annual review "Hartopolemos" (1919, 1923, 1924), and the music for the review of Τίμος Μωραϊτίνης and Πολύβιος Δημητρακόπουλος "Xifir-Baler" (1920). In 1923 and 1931 he tried unsuccessfully to revive the "Panathenaia". Th. Hadjipantazis in his book "The Athenian Review" (Ekdosies "Ermis", 1977) writes that Antonis Vottis sometimes appeared at the piano as a singer and even as a comedian
