German bassist in the Krautrock era, born December 6, 1950 in Berlin; died on March 26, 2014 in Berlin. His nickname was "Fame". Bassist with experimental Berlin Krautrock/Space-rock band [A=Agitation Free]. He was the only constant member throughout their history until he dropped-out of the 2007+ reformation. In the 1960's, he started as bassist with the Rhythm'n Blues band "The Ugly Things". In 1967, parts of the band merged with a band "The Sentries". This band was named "Agitation" and Günther became the bass player of this band. In 1969, the band was renamed to Agitation Free, as there was a second band with the name "Agitation" in Berlin. With the band, he recorded two albums and he also was responsible for the line-up of the band. In 1974, the band split due to different goals in musical development. In the following time, Günther co-founded a company for light and sound equipment and became roadie. One of his central shows were the travesty shows of the ensemble Chez Nous in the late 1970's. He became technical coordinator of the Jazzfest Berlin for his lifetime. From 1997, he was the driving force behind the reunion of "Agitation Free", once again in 2007.
